(Pictures with a thick border have sound links.)

There are some specific items we are especially interested in:

i_vhsjkta.jpg : EXNW Video jacket. Exploration Northwest

About 200 of the early Exploration Northwest shows produced by KOMO TV Seattle were accidentally discarded.  We call those the "lost shows".  We have been fortunate to find and copy a few of the "lost" shows because a few companies and individuals obtained a 16mm motion picture film copy of a show from KOMO-TV.  If you have motion picture film of an Exploration Northwest program, even if it doesn't include sound, please contact us.

We'd also be interested in moving picture footage or still photographs related to the production or promotion of Exploration Northwest, such as personal appearances or commercials.

If you have anything related to the Exploration Northwest program, please contact us.

captpu1b.jpg : CP Video jacket. The Captain Puget Show

Don did 2400 live, daily broadcasts of The Captain Puget Show between 1959 and 1968 at KOMO-TV in Seattle..

To our knowledge, only ONE of those 2,400 shows was kinescoped (recorded by filming a TV screen).  We'd like to locate motion picture film recordings of some other Captain Puget shows, even if they don't include sound.

We'd also be interested in other moving picture footage or still photographs related to The Captain Puget Show, such as personal appearances, commercials, or other things done to promote the program.

If you have anything related to The Captain Puget Show, please contact us.

chal001b.jpg : Set of Challenge Challenge

From 1962 to 1977, Don hosted "Challenge", a KOMO-TV television series featuring an inter-faith dialogue between a rabbi, priest and minister.

To our knowledge, no recordings of this program exist, but we'd sure like to find some.  We'd also be interested in moving picture footage or still photographs related to production or promotion of Challenge.

If you have anything related to the Challenge program, please contact us.

north01c.jpg : From out of the North audio jacket. KFAR Fairbanks

Radio:  In 1949, Don took a job as station manager for KFAR Radio in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Don did a popular radio program series at KFAR called "From Out of the North", which featured tales of the north country.

He also did a radio program called "Tundra Topics", which provided people in remote areas with information, messages, and stories.

Don also covered news events in the Fairbanks area.

We have a couple of audio recordings of Don's radio work at KFAR, but we'd like to find more.

Television:  Don put KFAR television on the air in 1952; he also served as the NBC-TV Alaska Correspondent.  We have few still photos and no motion picture recordings of Don's television work at KFAR.

Theater:  Don was also involved in the repertory theater in Fairbanks.  We have a few still photos of that, but nothing else.

If you have anything related to Don's life and career in Fairbanks, please contact us.

Don's Radio Work In Seattle

Don was a D-J at KRSC radio in 1943.  He also worked with the famed Leo Lassen, broadcaster of Rainier Baseball at Sick's Stadium in Seattle.  We have no recordings or photographs of Don at KRSC or with Leo Lassen.

Don also did a stint at KING and KOMO radio in the '40's.

trian01b.jpg : Trianon Don also did live, big-band broadcasts from the famous Trianon Ballroom in Seattle.  We have no recordings or photographs of Don's work there.

If you have anything related to Don's life or career in the 1940's, please contact us.

Don's Seattle Acting Days

Don became an actor in the Seattle Repertory Theatre about 1947.  He won the lead role in "Calico Cargo".

If you have anything related to Don's Seattle acting work -- scripts, photos, programs, posters, etc., please contact us.

dakot03b.jpg : Don and Jack The Dakotas

In 1963, Don appeared in a 60-minute episode of "The Dakotas", a nationally-syndicated western series produced by ABC TV.  The episode was entitled "Trial at Grand Forks".

If you have a film print or video of this episode, please contact us.

songs01c.jpg : Looking Back audio cassette. Don's Music

Don had a great baritone singing voice.

"The Story of Sorrento".  We don't have a copy of the 1940's, 78-RPM recording Don made of this song.  It's possible it was made on the "North Star" label in Fairbanks.

"Lavender Blue" was recorded by Don on the "North Star" label in Fairbanks.  We do not have a copy of this recording; it could be in either 78 or 45 RPM format.

"The Alaska Flag Song" was also recorded by Don on the "North Star" label in Fairbanks.  We have a copy of this recording, but we'd like to find one of higher quality.

If you have any recordings of Don singing, please contact us.
