HOW WE DO IT

We sell our products in a variety of ways:

At Events

We participate in many indoor and outdoor events during the year.

It might surprise you to know a little about the substantial logistics and expense it takes to place our booth at an event!

First, nearly all events charge a fee to rent booth space, so there's that to pay up front, in advance.  These fees range from as little as $25 for a simple, one-day small community event -- to as much as a thousand dollars for a major 10 or 12-day fair.

Videos must be duplicated, products packaged, signs made up, equipment checked, and a myriad other details looked after.

setup01b.jpg : Load Van at HomeThen we load everything into our van, and drive to the event.

snow02b.jpg : Driving in snow Some events may be as much as two hours away.  Since we do events year 'round, the weather isn't always pleasant, as was the case here on the way to a sportsman's show -- an hour and a half away.  Sometmes we have to rent a motel.

When we arrive, it's time to schlepp our stuff on the cart to our assigned spot.  It usually takes two or three trips back to the van to get all the stuff -- items such as two tables, tablecloths, disply boxes, videos, books, CD's, signs, extra stock, chairs, banners, catalogs, tv and stand, food, and coffee.

Then it's time to set the booth up.  Here's a time lapse of that process:

booth15c.jpg : Booth distant indoor. When the booth is set up, it's time to man it continually until the event is over.  The floor is usually concrete -- tough on the feet -- even with a heavily padded carpet we bring.

beer01b.jpg : Burger When the event is done, we treat ourselves to a big hamburger and fries!

Chances are pretty good we'll be setting up a booth at an event in your area some time soon, so you can see all of our products. And, of course, there's no shipping charges when you buy our stuff at an event . . .

This link will take you to the schedule of events we'll be attending in the future.

Please come see us -- we love to meet our customers!

WEATHER

You've probably heard that it rains a lot in the Seattle area.

As this precipitation map of our state shows, Seattle gets only get about 30" of rain a year.  We have relatively few heavy, gully-washer type of downpours, but we get drizzle for months on end.

A friend says it rains only twice a year here: from January 1 through about June 15th, and from September 15 through December 31!

Here's a topographic map of Washington.  Notice the wide variety of topography, and that two mountain ranges run vertically / north-south through the state.

When the warm, moisture-laden ocean air coming from the southwest bumps up against the cool Olympic Mountain Range near the coast, much of the moisture is precipitated out on the slopes and the lowlands, accounting for the heavy rainfall there, and the gorgeous rain forests.

As the air mass moves eastward, it encounters the Cascade Mountains. Again, large quantities of moisture are precipitated out on the windward slopes, while the valleys and lowlands get comparatively less rain.

Thus, the climate of the western part of the state is temperate, with long monsoons in the late fall, winter, spring and often the early summer.  At the lower elevations, significant periods and quantities of snow and freezing weather are infrequent.  There's plenty of snow at higher elevations, though.

East of the Cascades, the topography changes to high plateau of about 2,000 feet elevation.  Since most of the moisture has been been left behind west of the Cascades, the climate of eastern Washington is much different.  There, the four seasons are pronounced with hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters.
