How To Send Cash
Theft of cash by postal workers and by teenagers from mailboxes is becoming an increasingly frequent occurrence. If you DO send cash, we STRONGLY recommend you sandwich the cash inside an opaque material, such as aluminum foil, carbon paper, or lightweight cardboard. This way, the cash won't be easily detected by someone simply "candling" the envelope against a strong light. Cash is easily robbed from the mail this way.
If we do receive cash from you, we'll email you that we have received the cash -- or we'll email you a notice that your item has been shipped -- we don't ship an item if we haven't received payment!
Background About Our Cash Payment Policy
We have had a couple of instances where buyers claimed they sent us cash, but we have not received it, which was very awkward for them and for us.
From our perspective, our feedback rating and reputation as a seller is on the line in a situation we did not cause and have no control over.
To be depressingly legalistic about it, even if you can prove we received an envelope from you, there's no guarantee to us that there was in fact cash IN the envelope. It's one of the dilemmas of modern times.
We keep everything received related to a payment -- including the envelope -- and we photocopy every payment (including cash!), so we're sure about what we have received.
So this is one subject we have to be hard-nosed about. We have no choice but to caution you that IF WE DON'T GET THE CASH, YOU DON'T GET A REFUND OR THE MERCHANDISE, even if you send it by registered mail or certified mail, or any other method that provides you proof of delivery of an envelope to us.

SALES TAX INFORMATION
Because we are a registered corporation in Washington state, we are required to collect 8.8‰ Washington state sales tax on any item shipped to a Washington State address.
The only exception to this is if the buyer is not a Washington state resident. This can occur when the buyer purchases a gift to be sent directly to an address in the state of Washington.
If you wish to avoid paying the sales tax, you must be the buyer and you must live outside the state of Washington and you must provide proof you are not a Washington state resident.
We must report proof of your non-tax status to the state of Washington. Otherwise, we have to personally pay the sales tax on the transaction.

GENERAL SHIPPING INFORMATION
Flat-Rate Shipping and Handling Fee
Our flat-rate "shipping and handling" fee includes packaging, handling, and the MOST ECONOMICAL shipping method via the U.S. Postal Service to United States destinations.
Tapes, films, books, software, and printed items are shipped by USPS "Media Rate" (formerly called "Book Rate" or "Special Fourth Class"). Delivery may take up to ten days.
Light-weight items are sent by First Class mail.
Heavy Items
Heavy items are delivered using a close estimate of the actual shipping cost plus a fee for packaging and handling. The shipping part of the cost by Parcel Post depends on how far away you live, the size of package, and perhaps the nature of the item. Shipping "Oversize" items can be expensive -- costing perhaps as much as the item itself. Please visit the appropriate USPS domestic or international website below to see the options.
Seattle Metro Area Delivery
There are some items that are too big and / or heavy to ship. In many cases, the cost just to ship the item by commercial carrier can exceed the cost of the item itself, to say nothing of the cost to package it.
If you live in the metro Seattle area, we can deliver the item to you for a fee, or, we can arrange for you to pick up the item.
Faster Delivery
We'll ship the item by a faster method such as USPS Priority Mail or USPS Express Mail, at additional cost to you. Please visit the appropriate USPS domestic or international website below to see the options.

INSURANCE
In cases where we know the item is fragile, unique, or has a high dollar value, insurance may be shown as mandatory in our listing. Insurance fees are shown in the table below.
Upon your request, we'll be happy to insure your item at your expense.
We usually ship items through the U.S. Postal Service. Market-value insurance can be purchased for an additional small fee.
